Antonio Conte is missing Tottenham's game at Wolverhampton on the orders of the club's medical staff according to his assistant Cristian Stellini.

Conte will instead return to the club on Sunday to prepare for the Champions League game against AC Milan on Wednesday.

'Antonio will come back this week straight after the match against Wolves, will be in London and in charge again on Sunday,' said Stellini.Ā

'It is a question for medical department. They decided the time schedule would be one month. One month stops on Saturday and they asked Antonio to come back Sunday.'

Conte underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder on February 1. He was back on the touchline within 10 days but clearly not himself and after defeats against Leicester in the Premier League and Milan in the first leg of the last-16 tie stepped away once again.

Since then, he has missed victories against West Ham and Chelsea and the FA Cup fifth round defeat at Sheffield United on Wednesday.

'His thoughts are like everyone's,' said Stellini, when asked how his boss felt about the FA Cup exit at the hands of opponents from the Championship. 'Everyone was disappointed. It's difficult to shake off this type of match, this type of result.

'Maybe the players saw a different face of me also. Not only the face of Antonio. It was not a good result and we are all disappointed.'

Stellini blamed the defeat on the mentality of the players and rejected criticism aimed at team selection, and the decision to start with Harry Kane on the bench.

'When you approach a game like this, you have to fight,' he said.Ā

'That game was not good enough. We do not want to show this to the fans again. We have to create a good mentality. Sometimes we speak too much about trophies and not enough about mentality.

'It's not about selection it's about approach, mentality and the energy you put in. We had to be better. If you feel anger after the game it's too late. You need to feel anger before the game and not after.

'My expectation is tomorrow we play a different game. The same game we played last week in the league.'
