UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Two police officers at an Upper East Side precinct recently found out they share much more than a patrol car. They share the same genes.

Officers Tyler Barbour and Harley Greco of the NYPD's 19th Precinct have been partners for about five months but just recently found out they are cousins, according to a Facebook post written by the precinct's commander.

"Their relatives took a DNA test earlier this year, connected on Facebook, and just recently while commenting on one of our posts realized they both had family that were cops in the 19th Precinct! Bringing a whole new meaning to the term 'big blue family,'" the post reads.

It turns out that Greco and Barbour's great-great-grandmothers were sisters, ABC7 news first reported. Greco's grandmother and Barbour's second cousin initially made the connection after taking DNA tests, according to the report.

Officers at the 19th precinct have now taken to referring to Greco and Barbour's patrol car as the "cuz car," ABC7 reported.
