One person has died in a multiple-vehicle crash north of Kamloops.

The collision happened around 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, just south of Little Fort.

According to the RCMP, it began when two commercial vehicles, one travelling northbound and one travelling southbound, collided.

A witness told Global News the vehicles were a fuel tanker and a semi-trailer truck.

A northbound SUV then collided with the two crashed vehicles, and a truck carrying lumber headed the other way lost its load while trying to avoid the crash, Mounties said.
