SANTA CRUZ — A San Jose man driving Friday afternoon on northbound Branciforte Drive crashed into a power pole, blocking traffic for nearly two hours.

Officer Julieta Trenado, CHP-Santa Cruz public information officer, said the man in his 30s was driving distracted, but did not elaborate on the exact cause of the crash. The crash occurred just before 12:30 p.m. Friday near the Mystery Spot.

No injuries or power outages were reported.

The roadway opened shortly after 2 p.m.
