One man injured following I-90 crash near Kimball

KIMBALL -- An Indiana man was seriously injured following a crash near Kimball on Interstate 90 on Saturday.

The one-vehicle crash occurred at 5:52 p.m. Saturday, about a half-mile west of Kimball on I-90, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

David Patton, 61, of Lafayette, Indiana, was driving a 2017 Buick vehicle traveling east on the interstate when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the median. The vehicle hit an interstate crossover section, went airborne and rolled in the median landing on its wheels.

Patton was not wearing seat belt at the time of the crash, and charges are pending in the matter. He was transported to the Chamberlain hospital for treatment.
