Moorhead girls soccer secures first win of season over New Prague

MOORHEAD — The Moorhead Spuds bounced back from a season-opening loss with a 2-0 win over New Prague in Minnesota girls soccer Saturday at Jim Gotta Stadium.

Moorhead's first goal came from Lauren Hodny in the first half, assisted by Ally Peters. Jordan Nichols added a second goal after halftime, while Emily Soukup recorded a shutout with four saves on the day.

Next up for the Spuds (1-1) is a match up against Duluth East at 2 p.m. Tuesday at home.
