A skier died Tuesday at Eldora in Boulder County after apparently crashing into a tree.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday after ski patrol personnel with Eldora found a 60-year-old male skier lying on the ground in the trees along the ski run “Hot Dog Alley.”

The male was unconscious and alone and ski patrol immediately began first aid and CPR, but the male was pronounced dead in the first aid room at 11 a.m.

Investigators said it appears the man crashed into a tree at some point in the morning, and there were no signs of foul play.

The identity of the man has not been publicly released, but officials did say he was from Nederland. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will release the identity and conduct an investigation to determine cause and manner of death.

This death marks the second at Eldora in a week following a crash on Nov. 30.

“We at Eldora offer our deepest sympathies to the skier’s family and friends,” Eldora officials said in a statement.
