CUMMING, GA — The body of a man who had been missing since he fell into Lake Lanier on Thursday has been recovered.

James Dunn Lindsey, 46, of Cumming, was found by game wardens on Sunday morning, Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

On Thursday afternoon, Lindsey was working on his boat at Mary Alice Beach Park when he slipped from the boat, went underwater, and did not resurface, McKinnon told the paper.

A search began shortly after by game wardens, but had to cease due to the darkness, McKinnon said.

McKinnon told the paper that "game wardens, divers from the Forsyth County Fire Department and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers returned each day with sonar equipment until Lindsey was found."
