ARLINGTON, VA — A Maryland man who was being pursued by Arlington County Police in connection with a larceny incident Sunday afternoon jumped onto the tracks at the Pentagon City Metro Station, disrupting Metro service for several hours, according the daily crime report.

Officers responded around 2:08 p.m., for the report of a larceny in the 1200 block of S. Hayes St. Police say a man left a business with merchandise he hadn't paid for and fled from officers into the Pentagon City Metro Station. Once there, he jumped onto the tracks, according to the report. The tracks were searched, but police were not able to locate the man.

Service between the National Airport and L'Enfant Plaza and Arlington Cemetery stations was suspended on both Blue and Yellow lines. While the lines were closed, Metrorail provided shuttle service between stations.
