Suspect arraigned in fatal hit-and-run in Hillsdale County

HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI -- A Hillsdale man has been arraigned on charges stemming from a fatal hit-and-run on Aug. 21.

Dylan Lee Jones, 24, was arraigned Sept. 7 before Hillsdale District Court Judge Megan Stiverson, according to court records. He is charged with reckless driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of a crash resulting in death, according to the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office.

Records do not show any court dates at this time.

The fatal crash occurred around 8:30 a.m., Aug. 21 in the area of Moore Road and Wildlife Drive in Fayette Township just north of Hillsdale, police said.

Jones was arrested on Sept. 4 by a patrolling Michigan State Police trooper in Reading Township in western Hillsdale County, police said.
