FARGO — A body found by the Red River on Thursday, Oct. 17, has been identified as Brian Jeffrey Reed, 35, of Fargo, according to the Fargo Police Department.

The body was discovered just after 6:30 p.m. Thursday on the west side of Dike East near Prairie St. John's psychiatric hospital, police said.

The body was in a low spot that had filled with water. Firefighters and police used pumps to remove water in order to retrieve the body.

Police say there are no signs of foul play at this time. Police previously said there was no visible trauma to the body.

Investigators are waiting for the final autopsy results to determine the cause of death, which could take several weeks.
