Do you like the new Nike MLB jerseys?

by Daniel Tran

Major League Baseball unveiled its 2020 jerseys with new partner Nike, but many are not like the look due to the company’s iconic swoosh on the front of the new apparel. Some fans love the non-commercial look of baseball jerseys of the past and want the cleaner look back. Others think such a minor change isn’t worth complaining about. What do you think?

Apparel brands have used jerseys as gaudy advertising space but at least one sport had kept the most visible part of their shirts pure—until now.

Nike is the new supplier of jerseys and made their mark by placing the iconic swoosh on the front of the jersey instead of the sleeve as Majestic had done before. The result is an eyesore that is everything wrong with sports. Commercialization is ruining the game with their ads all over arenas and ads on television. The last thing anyone wants to see is more soulless companies infringing on the game.

The Nike logo needs to be removed from MLB jerseys.

People are getting worked up over a little swoosh on the jersey like baseball hasn't always been an advertiser's dream. Just look around an MLB stadium. Companies are buying naming rights, putting ads on the outfield wall and generally having their fingerprints on baseball. This is the price of capitalism and not even baseball is safe.

Complaining about the jerseys having a very small logo on it is the definition of crying over spilled milk. It’s not affecting the product on the field at all so there no use fighting over it.
