Fredericksburg Requests Photos For Virtual Memorial Day Gallery

The City of Fredericksburg is asking for photos of people who residents will be remembering on Memorial Day for its virtual gallery.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — This year’s Memorial Day ceremony in the City of Fredericksburg will be virtual due to the coronavirus crisis. As part of the ceremony, the city is putting a virtual Memorial Gallery on display to remember the nation's service members.

The city is asking for photos of people who residents will be remembering on Memorial Day. The photos will be shared on Fredericksburg's social media channels, YouTube and its public access television channels.

The photos must be submitted by May 19 and include the service member's name, branch of service, and year entering and year leaving the military.

Photos can be scanned and emailed to Visitor Center Manager Danelle Rose at darose@fredericksburgva.gov with the email subject line “Virtual Memorial Gallery.”

The photos also can be mailed to the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, Attn: Virtual Memorial, 706 Caroline St., Fredericksburg, VA 22041. If mailing your photos be sure to protect them inside the envelope so they don't bend and include your return address. The city will mail the photos back to you after they have been scanned.
