Remembering Ralph Keller: 'a great hockey player'

Ralph J. Keller was a former Hershey Bears defenseman.

Keller, 82, died March 8 in Lebanon.

Keller was the owner and operator of the former Raphael's Beauty Salon in Hershey.

He played for the Hershey Bears 1963-1974 during which time he was named captain and won the Calder Cup in the 1968-69 and 1973-74 seasons. He was inducted into the Hershey Bears Hockey Club Hall of Fame in 2012 and the AHL Hall of Fame in 2016.
Keller also enjoyed golf. He was a member of the Freemasons, Shriners International, Knights of Columbus, and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Hershey where he sang in the choir.

Surviving are his children Rick, Duane, Johanna and Jonathan; grandchildren, Rafe, Evan, Emma, Justin and Chad; and siblings Maggie, Lizzie and Adam (former Providence Reds hockey player).
