This is the 'disgusting' moment a commuter was caught with their bare feet on the seats of a train.

A man posted the video on his Twitter account after riding on a London Thameslink train.

The footage shows the bare feet of someone laying on a seat opposite him, however the person's face is not shown.

The unseen person is seen happily wiggling their toes as the man filmed the scene in horror.

The 24-year-old said the train was not busy at the time of the video - around 3pm - and that the incident did not seem to draw much attention.

He posted the video with the hashtags #disgusting, #sick# and #publictransport.

He told the MailOnline: 'I think it's definitely not good train etiquette, especially with others being around.

'My feeling of feet is that they might be unclean and sweaty and people sit down on these seats - it's quite disgusting really.

'If you're going to do it, do it at home.'

The man said the woman was in her mid-thirties and was not travelling alone.

'The woman had her boyfriend next to them, but he didn't seem to care or say anything,' he said.

'Maybe it's a regular occurrence.'

The woman was not confronted about her behaviour by anyone while the man was on the train.

He didn't say anything as he was about to get off the train.

Transport for London says having on your feet on seats - bare or not - is against its conditions of carriage and can lead to a fine.
