Listen to Episode 24 of ‘Blue Rush’: Garrett’s Offense, Super Bowl 2020 Set feat. Ernie Accorsi

Blue Rush Episode 24 Jason Garrett Giants
AP

Super Bowl 2020 is now set. The Giants have a new offensive coordinator. There was lots to talk about on the latest episode of the “Blue Rush” podcast with Jimmy Failla and me.

We open the show reacting to the AFC and NFC Championship games. It wasn’t a good week for the underdogs, but it’s a terrific Super Bowl ahead in Miami for football fans. Andy Reid is in the big game again and looking for his first title as a head coach. The Chiefs are back in the big game for the first time in 50 years. Jimmy Garoppolo only attempted eight passes, but the run game led by Raheem Mostert carried the load to lead the 49ers to the big game. We look ahead to Super Bowl LIV, the spread and who might win. We also react to the Giants hiring Jason Garrett as their offensive coordinator and whether it was the right decision. Could Jason Witten follow?

NY Post Giants beat writer Paul Schwartz drops by in his weekly spot. Schwartz breaks down the Garrett hire, what it means for Joe Judge and the offense and whether it was the right move with all the attention he will get. Schwartz believes bringing in Witten as a player would be a mistake because he doesn’t offer much now. He talks about Eli Manning, the “dad bod” and why he believes the quarterback’s NFL career is over. He also talks about heading to the Senior Bowl and whom he will be watching.

Former Giants GM Ernie Accorsi then joins the show. He reacts to George Young getting into the Hall of Fame, what he learned working with him, his importance turning the Giants franchise around and Young getting in later than he should have.
