More acts, food announced for Sister Cities Smokeout

MOORHEAD — The lineup for the inaugural Sister Cities Smokeout is now a little less hazy.

Promoter Jade Presents on Thursday, April 18, announced most of the supporting lineups for the two-day celebration of music, barbecue and beer at Bluestem Meadow at Bluestem Center for the Arts, 801 50th Ave. S., Moorhead.

Trampled by Turtles will play before headliner Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats on Thursday, Aug. 29. Kind Country opens the festival at 5 p.m. and Caitlyn Smith plays after that.

Country band Little Big Town will perform Friday, Aug. 30, at the inaugural Sister Cities Smokeout at Moorhead's Bluestem Center for the Arts. Special to The Forum

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Sugarfire Smoke House from St. Louis and Ubons BBQ from Yazoo City, Miss., would be among the featured food vendors, though more will be announced.

The event website, https://scsmokeout.com , states that ticket prices will also be announced later this week.

For almost 30 years John Lamb has been covering arts and entertainment in the Red River Valley. He started writing for the High Plains Reader in 1997 and moved to The Forum in 2002.
