Video Shows Chiefs’ Chris Jones Emotionally Taking the Field in Potentially His Last Game at Arrowhead

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle undefined may have played his final game as a Chief at Arrowhead Stadium as he enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

Jones was understandably emotional taking the field ahead of the Chiefs’ wild-card game vs. the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. A video captured by NFL Films showcased the 29-year-old’s tearful speech to his teammates before the matchup.

“Some of us, this will be our last time on this field, man,” Jones said. “Look around, appreciate it. You got a chance and choice in life, and we got a choice to dominate.”

Jones’s future hasn’t been determined yet, so it is possible that he could return to the Chiefs next season and beyond that. He’s been with Kansas City his entire NFL career since 2016.

Last offseason included a conundrum between Jones and the Chiefs. The defensive tackle held out on a contract agreement, leading to him missing training camp and the team’s first game of the year. The two sides then agreed on a one-year contract.
