Plus, a look at past collections.

Renowned for her modern yet timeless aesthetic, designer Amsale Aberra created sophisticated gowns with crisp, clean lines, and figure celebrating silhouettes. Now under the direction of her husband, daughter, and senior design team, Amsale's legacy lives on through her namesake collections. The Amsale collections feature exquisite draping, classic silhouettes, and hand-embroidered embellishments.

Below, the latest collections from Amsale.

Amsale Spring 2025

Amsale’s spring 2025 collection, titled “The Art of Living,” was partly inspired by French Romanticism—but it was also informed by the brides of modernity. Of-the-moment corsets, for example, are a French-inspired mainstay in the collection; this is just one example of how head designer Michael Cho is speaking to the past and the present through this series of gowns. As for his other methods? So much of this 11-dress collection can be mixed and matched, another trending concept in the bridal space; lace undershirts, removable criss-cross ribbons sleeves, and fingerless gloves ensure that the Amsale bride has every element of her look (or looks!) covered. “Brides are looking for multiple dresses to wear on the wedding day, and want their second look to be as beautifully crafted and bridal as the first,” says Amsale chief creative officer Sarah Swann. “The romantic French inspiration of this collection ensures each gown tells an undeniably bridal story for every bride's own vision."

Amsale Fall 2024

For Amsale’s Fall 2024 collection, the design team drew inspiration from ikebana, the Japanese art of arranging flowers. “The Japanese art of floral arranging, ikebana design, is all about simplicity, understated elegance, balance, harmony, and a divine respect for nature,” Amsale head designer Michael Cho says. “Its goal is to convey a specific feeling or emotion to the observer. These are qualities also beautifully embodied in our brand and mirror the philosophies instilled by our founder, Amsale Aberra.” Through floral jacquard, 3D blooms, and embellished stems, this line of wedding dresses honors ikebana in a modern and elegant way.

Another source of inspiration for the collection was karesansui, a style of Japanese gardening where sculpted stone formations are arranged in raked gravel. You’ll find tulle and jacquard materials in the array of dresses, symbolizing the pebble work found in these curated gardens. “These dual art forms emphasize a balanced aesthetic, ensuring that no singular component overwhelms the overarching beauty of the design as a whole,” Cho explains. Below, the first 15 looks from the line.

As it is our absolute commitment that all brides see themselves in our coverage, our editorial team has worked with the brand to confirm that this collection meets the standards outlined in our diversity pledge.

Amsale Spring 2023

Head designer Michael Cho was first inspired by the "smoky romance of underground jazz clubs" when designing Amsale's Spring 2023. Images of stars like Billie Holiday reminded him of rare flowers that bloom at night, leading to the collections name, "Blossoms in the Moonlight."

Amsale Fall 2022

Amsale designer Michael Cho drew inspiration from the "hidden world of forest streams" for the brand's Fall 2022 collection and the end result is spot on. From mushroom pleated tulle to delicate floral embroidery, ribbed threadwork to flowing skirts and trains, the entire collection is airy, delightful, and romantic. And in true Amsale fashion, no detail went unnoticed.

Amsale Spring 2022

Presented on April 6, 2021, Amsale's Archive revives five iconic gowns from the fashion house's past three decades of design. "The gowns selected for the Archive collection showcase Amsale's true design philosophy and the power of her simplicity," said chief creative officer Sarah Swann. "Each tells a beautiful story of her craftsmanship and attention to a sole focal point." A portion of the proceeds from each gown sold in this collection will also go toward the Amsale Aspire Initiative at the Fashion Institute of Technology—"a program dedicated to eradicating racism in the fashion industry by providing scholarships and opportunities for Black students to develop entrepreneurial skills and build successful fashion careers."

Amsale Fall 2021

Amsale's Fall 2021 collection focuses on impeccable tailoring, dramatic silhouettes, and pared-back designs. "The collections are very tightly edited, but each piece is special and especially considered for each different bride,” says AMSALE Design Director Margo Lafontaine. “The current times have given extra meaning to getting dressed up—so there’s a little more drama, a little more attention to detail, craft, and texture.” Standouts from this collection include a convertible organza ballgown with a removable bodice overlay, a sculptural one-shoulder gown with an asymmetrical back sash, and a fit-to-flare gown with a plunging neckline.

Amsale Fall 2020

A sense of ease and understated luxury define the Amsale Fall 2020 collection. Clean lines and simple silhouettes in exquisite fabrics, such as Italian moire and radzmir bring to life the ideals of balance, line, and classical draping. This collection continues the play between opaque and sheer, with the layering of luxe materials to create new textures. Statement capes and removable tulle trains suggest drama is what you make of it.
