Watch Helen Mirren destroy James Corden in a rap battle

The Dame brought out her best lines to take him down

Helen Mirren destroyed James Corden in a rap battle as she guested on his late night talk show.

The Dame appeared on The Late Late Show last night (January 30) to promote her new movie Winchester, which arrives in cinemas on Friday (February 2).

During her time on the show, she took part in the regular ‘Drop The Mic’ segment, in which Corden goes head-to-head with a celebrity in a rap battle. Introduced as “the Dame who doesn’t give a damn”, Mirren entered the ring wearing a red cloak and crown, waving regally to the studio audience.

Corden took the mic first, dissing the actor with lines like, “Back home she’s considered the actress you have to fear/We’re in America now, Meryl Streep lives here”, and “Helen’s so beloved she’s in her own class/She played the queen, but now she’s a royal pain in my ass.”

Mirren fired back, rapping: “I’m the one you should fear wherever I go/If I’m a pain in your ass that leaves a lot of room to grow”. Later, she accused Corden of being “obsessed with my exes”, adding: “Sorry James I’m not single/But you know I taught your little mister to tingle.” Watch it above, via Billboard.

Last year, Mirren told an audience at Loyola Marymount University School of Film & TV that she would “love” to play Donald Trump.

“I don’t think [his psychology] would be too difficult to penetrate quite honestly,” she said. “You look at the upbringing. You look at the schooling, the father, the mother. I don’t know much about Trump’s background, but if I was to play him, I would definitely start there. You have to start with the child, and the child is very much in Trump.”
