Palm Beach Gardens’ Lynden Moss, making his first varsity start at quarterback, threw for 322 yards and two touchdowns, and running back Norman Blackshear rushed for two touchdowns to lead the Gators to a 34-0 victory on Friday night against the host Jupiter Warriors.

“We had a lot more focus tonight,” said Palm Beach Gardens coach Tyrone Higgins. “But, we are still jelling as a team. Lynden Moss did what he had to do for us to win the game.”

After a scoreless first quarter, the Gators (4-1) scored first when Blackshear capped a six-play, 20-yard drive with a 4-yard run with 1:37 left in the first half. Chase Dixon’s PAT gave the Gators a 7-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Gators scored touchdowns on each of their first four possessions to seal the victory. The Gators defense was equally as strong as it held Jupiter (3-2) to minus-38 yards of rushing in the second half.

On the opening drive of the second half, the Gators responded quickly. On their second play from scrimmage in the third quarter, Moss connected with wideout Rapheal Vazquez on an 85-yard touchdown pass.

A two-point conversion attempt by Gardens was unsuccessful. Gardens led 13-0. Two more third-quarter touchdowns by the Gators put the game out of reach.

The Gators’ Adrian Santiago scored on a 27-yard run at the 6:46 mark and teammate Myron Levy caught a 16-yard pass at the 2:19 mark. Blackshear closed out the scoring with a 31-yard touchdown run with 11:40 left in the game.
