Tighe family reunion

By CHARLIE De BIASE JR.

Was it a jersey retiring ceremony or a family reunion?

Actually, it appears to be both and there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

Former St. Peter's Girls' basketball star Sheila Tighe had her Manhattan College jersey retired during a ceremony at the Riverdale school on Sunday and there were plenty of people on hand to witness the occasion.

Included in the gather were  many family members and friends.

Manhattan announced Tighe's jersey would be retired earlier this fall and she becomes only the first player, men or women, and second person overall to receive the honor.

Tighe wore No. 11 during her playing days with the Lady Jaspers.

For a look at some of those who attended and the ceremony, please scroll down.
