Sanitation
No garbage collection, no recycling and no street cleaning will occur on Memorial Day. Residents should set out trash and organics after 4 p.m. on Monday evening, for collection beginning the next day. Collection may occur earlier or later than the usual time.
In most cases, residents should hold recyclables until the next collection day. Call 311 or check the city Sanitation Twitter account for updated information.

Ferry: Holiday schedule (boats run every 30 minutes between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.)
Staten Island Railway (SIR): Sunday schedule
The SIR will operate its Early Departure Get Away schedule on Friday to accommodate customers looking to get an early start on their holiday weekend plans. This schedule means extra SIR trains will be added earlier in the afternoon beginning at 2:30 p.m. from the St. George ferry terminal. There will be one express train and one local train awaiting every boat until 7:50 p.m.
