ATLANTA, GA — Georgians can now get the coronavirus vaccine at Publix and Kroger pharmacies across the state.

Publix will distribute coronavirus vaccines at 108 Publix pharmacies across Georgia, including several in Atlanta, Publix officials announced Thursday. Kroger announced Friday that all pharmacies in Georgia now have the vaccine available.

Both grocery retail chains will administer coronavirus vaccines by appointment only for first responders, health care workers, Georgians age 65 and older and their caregivers, as well as residents and staff of long-term care facilities.

Vaccinations are provided while supplies last at no cost at both Kroger and Publix. Customers with health insurance will need to bring their insurance card to their scheduled appointment. Medicare members are instructed to bring their red, white and blue Medicare Part B card, and customers without health insurance are instructed to provide their driver's license or Social Security number.

“This is an extremely critical mission and Kroger is pleased to be a part of the team ensuring our most vulnerable residents have more ways to access the vaccine,” said Felix Turner, manager of corporate affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division, in a news release. “We are strongly encouraging all customers and associates to receive the vaccine to curb the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, and we will do all we can to ensure they have access as soon as it’s more widely available.”
