THE Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras kept their immaculate record intact and tarnished the previous clean slate of the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters via a 25-13, 25-18 victory in the 14th season of the Shakeys Girls Volleyball League (SGVL) – Central Visayas Leg yesterday at the Lux Oriens Gym of the Ateneo de Cebu in Mandaue City.
SWU improved to 2-0 (win-loss) while UC dropped to 1-1.
UC momentarily took a 14-13 lead in the second set but from there on, SWU used a 12-4 run to snatch the victory and top Group A.
Also in girls play, Abellana National School (ANS) 1-1 used a strong second set to defeat the hapless Saint Theresa’s College (STC), 27-25, 25-16
In other games, the University of San Carlos (USC) remained unbeaten after two games by thrashing the winless PAREF Southcrest, 25-12, 25-12, while the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-ADC) broke into the win column after crushing University of Bohol, 25-17, 25-7.
