As a "tribute" to the iconic two-door station wagons of Holden Australia's yesteryear, Red Bull and Triple Eight Engineering have cooked up this insane shooting brake with 705 BHP, full racing suspension, and... surfboard racks.

"We're here after six months of development to reveal our secret project and what an honour to be a part of a Tribute Edition Sandman and have it race around the track this weekend," said Holden V8 Supercar champion Jamie Whincup

A riotous El-Camino/vanmobile marketed unscrupulously at free-spirited Aussies to do drugs and have sex in. I know; we need more cars like this these days.

It really was a "passport to a good time" with "105 feet of party room in the back," (both lines in Holden brochures for the car).

Holden first revisited the Sandman idea in 2000, with a one-off ute painted "Bushfire" that depicted "Depicting uniquely Australian 'beach and bush goddess' themes." So you're not free to interpret that however you want, here's what they were talking about:

It's too bad Red Bull insisted on going so sterile-sinister with the graphics on their "new Sandman." The shape and stance is spectacular, but the original just can't be touched on swagger.
