OddFellows Is Turning Its East Village Shop Into an Ice-Cream-Sandwich Emporium

This Friday, the OddFellows outpost on East 4th Street will transform into the Sandwich Shop, featuring a menu entirely devoted to ice-cream sandwiches. Sam Mason’s menu includes fall-appropriate Odd Pockets: ice cream and toppings stuffed into a brioche bun that’s warmed on a panini press (an approach also favored by A.B. Biagi). There are also customizable DIY ice-cream sandwiches, which offer a choice of flavor, topping crunch, and one of five cookies, like spiced ginger, oatmeal, and, of course, chocolate chip. But if you’d rather leave it up to the experts, opt for one of the signature creations, such as a sandwich with s’mores-marshmallow ice cream, marshmallow sauce, graham-cracker “soil,” and a chocolate cookie.
