I am always on the hunt for the best mascara, the one that will give me the long, luscious lashes I bloody well should have been born with.

The one thing I've learnt from my lash hunt is that not all mascaras are created equal and a heavy price tag doesn't necessarily mean more lash for your money.

Which is why L'Oréal's had me (almost) foaming at the mouth. I had heard rumours that it was a dupe for the best-selling mascara in the world...Too Faced Better Than Sex, and with a price tag of £8.99 compared to £19 I was desperate to try it.

L'Oréal's Paradise mascara promises to give "intense volume, spectacular length and a feather soft feel." Which basically sounds like my dream lashes in a tube.

So, I diligently took it off to to our Beauty Booth, to see if it really does live up to they hype.

So I think we can all agree that mascara really is a gift straight from heaven but did Paradise live up to its claims?

Well in terms of volume and length I would say hell yeah. This is one of those few mascaras that you really can get away with one coat, it's that good. I applied two coats with relatively little clumping but you would be pushing it with three, although it's just not the kind of mascara that you need to build up tbh.

In terms of lasting power this didn't smudge on me (even on my bottom lashes), which was a revelation seeing as I can't wear Better Than Sex without looking like an endangered animal come 2pm.

Not only is this the best high street mascara I've tried in a while, but it's also way better than most high end ones I've used and for that reason it's going straight in my makeup bag.

With thanks to King of the Booth.
