Billionaire hedge fund manager and Democratic donor Tom Steyer says he purchased a copy of author Michael Wolff’s new book on Donald Trump’s White House—a book the president has tried to prevent from coming out—for each and every member of Congress.
Steyer says that he plans to hand-deliver Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House to each of the 535 members of the House of Representatives and Senate.
The book, which was pushed up to be released Friday, is chock-full of hot, scalding tea, including the fact that Trump did not expect to win the presidency; the news that the president’s closest aides, without exception, believe him to be an idiot; and first-person accounts of the utter chaos and willful ignorance of the Trump White House.
The Hill reports that Steyer spent at least $20 million of his own money on the “Need to Impeach” campaign (have you guys seen the commercials?) against Trump, which calls on members of Congress to start impeachment proceedings against the sitting president.
Word on the street is that Steyer has his own political ambitions, and he has said that he will make a “major announcement” about his political future this week.
