FLINT, MI -- A man approached Richfield Public School Academy students at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and attempted to lure them into his white Dodge van, according to school Superintendent Pamela Haldy via the school's Facebook page.

The man was described as an "older, white male with a long beard." The children he interacted with were standing at their bus stop at Pierson and Western roads waiting for the bus to pick them up to go to school, according to Haldy.

The man told the kids he was looking for "a black and brown dog that had attacked his dog the night before."

He then asked the kids to get in his van and help him find the dog, Haldy's post claims.

A Mass Transportation Authority bus driver saw it happening and alerted the kids to the bus instead.

This incident has been reported to the police, according to Haldy.

No additional information is being released by the school at this time.
