One of Alabama's young wide receivers is transferring

One of Alabama's young receivers has left the program.

Sophomore T.J. Simmons announced on Twitter Sunday morning that he's transferring to West Virginia.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Clay-Chalkville grad was coming off of a productive spring and appeared to be firmly in the mix for playing time at wide receiver after contributing on special teams as a freshman last season.

The former three-star recruit had a game-high six catches for 82 yards and a touchdown during Alabama's spring game in April.

Simmons is the third player to leave the Crimson Tide program since the end of the spring, joining linebacker Shawn Jennings and defensive lineman O.J. Smith.
