Students at Oxford University in England lined up for a surprise talk from Kanye West at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, organized by the Oxford Guild, today. Unlike his talk at Harvard back in 2013 for the DONDA Design and Lecture Series, Kanye asked his audience to turn their phones off according to The Tab Oxford, so there are no photos of him speaking, but the publication was able to live-tweet quotes and a video of the talk is supposed to go online now that the talk is over.

Kanye stood with no microphone in the 300-seat auditorium and talked about art, fashion, creativity, and various other topics in his usual stream of consciousness style of speaking. On the topic of college, Kanye said: "If I could have done it again I would have gone to the Art Institute over the American Academy." He continued by saying that "my goal, if I was going to do art, fine art, would have been to become Picasso or greater...That always sounds so funny to people, comparing yourself to someone who has done so much, and that’s a mentality that suppresses humanity."

That wasn't the only gem that he gave the students this morning:

"Clothing should be like food. There should never be a $5,000 sweater. You know what should cost $5000? A car."

"Beauty has been stolen from the people and is being sold back to them as luxury."

"I’m assuming I’m probably wearing a $2,000 shirt, but I got it for free from the designer."

"I approach creativity like a sport, if I have a drawing I react just like a jock: LOOK AT THE FUCKING DRAWING OVER THERE YEAH"
