NBC has released its first promo for its Neil Patrick Harris-hosted variety show — but clearly, a 15-second Super Bowl spot isn’t enough time to translate how legendary it’ll actually be.
“I only have 15 seconds to tell you about my new really big show, so I thought, instead, why not perform a thrilling number to give you a glimpse of what’s coming? Let’s do it!” Just as the number’s first notes play, someone shouts, “We’re out of time, Neil.”

The 10-episode variety show, airing this fall, is an adaptation of the U.K.’s long-running Saturday Night Takeaway from ITV, and will feature comedy sketches, musical numbers, mini game shows, hidden-camera celebrity pranks and appearances by A-listers. The U.S. version, filmed in front of a live audience, will also adopt a new title (currently it is untitled).
