The heist occurred about 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 27, 2013, when a man at the PNC Bank on Route 57 handed a teller a note that said he had a gun, police said. No weapon was shown during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 180 pounds and with a faint beard or goatee. He was wearing sunglasses, sneakers with light blue shoelaces, black Puma baseball cap, black jacket, blue jeans and work gloves.

Pursuit of a black BMW seen speeding through a parking lot was called off when the bank robbery was reported. Police say the car may be connected to the heist. (Courtesy photo)

He may be connected to a black 2009-2011 BMW 328i chased by police shortly before the robbery, authorities said. The vehicle had heavily tinted windows and no registration tag.

The BMW had been seen speeding through a parking lot, according to previous reports. An officer broke off pursuit when the holdup was reported.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Joe Mathews of the Mansfield Township Police Department at 908-689-6222 or Detective Scott Imboden of the Warren County Prosecutor's Office at 908-475-6620.
