Obama’s photographer celebrates Trump’s first 100 days by roasting the shit out of him

The world is focused on Donald Trump’s vast celebration of a successful, event-filled first 100 days as president. Accomplishments include inciting a new wave of civic activism in response to his disastrous proposals; fucking up the spelling and execution of nearly everything he could; filling the proverbial swamp with more swamp people while daringly leaving countless important government posts unfilled; botching his very first military exercise in Yemen; enflaming relations with China, Russia, North Korea, and Syria; and achieving record-low approval ratings for a president at this point in his term. He has also spent a lot of time at Mar-A-Lago, and one time he sat in a truck! It’s been fun.

Obama’s official photographer, Pete Souza, has celebrated the ever-living shit out of this arbitrary milestone. While he initially captured attention by posting photos that contrasted the, shall we say, “alternative successes” of the Trump administration, including the decision to conduct foreign policy in the dining room of a golf club, Souza has bombarded his feed over the past few days with more than a dozen pictures of Obama within his first 100 days, all designed to draw a contrast with our current commander in chief. Scroll past the “first 100 days” series to find equally compelling juxtapositions of their stances on climate change, health care, and more. And yeah: These are absolutely rose-colored glasses from a decidedly biased source, but it’s hard not to sigh wistfully at a president who seemed intellectually capable of the role. Souza’s a good follow if you want to be reminded that people in power can be something less than gut-draining apocalyptic monsters.
