Is there anyone better to take careers advice from than a multi award-winning actress who has achieved world acclaim and amassed a fortune of £38 million? We think not.

So it's rather lucky then that Dame Helen Mirren, who incidentally fits into all the above categories, recently revealed her advice for achieving success at work.

Speaking to Campaignthe actress said: 'My advice is be on time and don’t be an arsehole. Grab your opportunities when they come with both hands, give it your all and then fake it.'

Succinct and honest - proving exactly why we love the 72-year-old icon.

She also had an encouraging nugget of knowledge about insecurity: 'If you have got a creative mind, insecurity is part of the necessary process,' says Mirren, who helped was a pivotal part in helping children discover their self-worth as part of a L’Oréal campaign in association with The Prince’s Trust earlier this year.

'It comes out of a questioning towards life in general. Maybe it’s this quality that drives creativity.'

So in summary, fake it til' you make it and don't stress too much about insecurity.

Disclaimer: She did categorically state that though people always ask her for advice she actually 'has no idea.'
We'll take our chances anyway, thanks Helen.
