It's always interesting (and even a little bit exciting) when you spot a continuity issue in a TV show or movie. After all, there's just something satisfying about being able to spot an error the producers hoped would fly under the radar.

As it turns out, even '90s favorite Friends isn't immune from making these kind of mistakes. In the first season of Friends, Monica's apartment, where much of the show takes place, underwent a serious change — and you might not have ever even noticed it.

Take a look at the screen grabs here, which come from the pilot episode. Monica's apartment number is 5, right?

In this shot with Paul the Wine Guy, you can also see that Joey and Chandler's apartment across the way has the number 4 on the door.

Let's fast-forward to episode eight. Can you see what the apartment numbers are now? If you look over Joey and Chandler's shoulders, you'll see their apartment is number 19 and Monica's is number 20.

The switch ultimately makes sense — the people behind the show realized the apartment numbers should reflect that Monica, Joey and Chandler lived on a higher floor, so they changed the numbers — but it's fun to catch the error nonetheless.
