STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- James Spader sent an assistant to shoo me off the set of "The Blacklist" -- and it was basically the best moment of my life.
Well, it wasn't just me. A handful of observant Staten Islanders occupied the street in front of Borough Hall in St. George on Tuesday morning to take a peek at the NBC hit series "The Blacklist" in action.
Crew say they have been setting up since 7 a.m. and are permitted to film for one day only -- but we know they'll eventually be back.
From the street corner, Staten Islanders can see Raymond "Red" Reddington -- Spader's character described as "America's most-wanted mastermind" welcoming a character in a green plaid shirt with jeans into his navy blue Grand Wagoneer.
Borough Hall seems to have a high position on "The Blacklist." The show filmed in the courtyard next to the building in November 2015.
A dozen extras lined the side of set, dressed in business attire. The scene -- that crew called action on at 11:45 a.m. -- was shot for the show's first episode of the fifth season.
