She then went on to speak about interacting with passionate a fanbase, saying, "So much of what we do as actors promoting something, you deal a lot with the press, or you shoot into the void and hope people like what you're doing...At [a place like] Comic Con you have them right across the table saying, 'Hey, I love what you're doing' or 'I hate everything about you!'"When asked what it was like for her to experience that kind of backlash as an actress, Callies said, "Actually, I think it's wonderful. I think it's really honest. I come from theater...there's something about having a relationship with your audience that feels very honest as an actor. I don't need people to like me. I want people to engage with the stories I'm telling and feel passionate about them. So if they're feeling passionate about them one way or another, I feel like I'm doing my job."
