3 arrests made in Lehigh Valley DUI checkpoint

Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville arrested three people following a sobriety checkpoint in Lehigh County.

Police conducted the checkpoint from 11 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday in Lowhill Township.

Police stopped 108 motorists and said they made three arrests, which included one for drunken driving and two for underage drinking. In addition, 10 summary traffic citations were handed out.

Adrian Santana, 33, of Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, allegedly attempted to flee the checkpoint and began eluding officers before being stopped. He was charged with fleeing police, reckless endangerment and related summary traffic offenses.

Court records show charges against Santana were filed at the office of District Judge Patricia Engler.
