Adorable ‘Frozen’-Inspired Softball Team Is Having None Of Your Gender Stereotyping

They're not about to 'let it go.'

Time and again, girls are sent mixed messages about how they should behave, whether it's about makeup, clothes, or the extracurricular activities they choose to participate in. But the "Freeze" softball team from Edmonton, Oklahoma, is fighting back against gender stereotypes in what is possibly the most adorable way.

According to People, the girls' moms were inspired to create the team while their 4- and 5-year-old daughters were taking dance. They had the girls wear Elsa-inspired outfits to get the "Frozen" fans interested in the game and give them a powerful message.

"You're a little girl, and you can do anything," said Betsey Gregory, the mom who took the photo -- and whose daughter is the team's catcher. "Don't let people get in your way. Go for it. Wear an Elsa dress and play softball."

The photo sends a powerful message about the awesome complexity of being a girl: that you can like sports, get dirty, wear a dress and be a princess at the same time. "Little girls that are in beautiful sparkly dresses are okay to look a little tough and look a little mean," Betsey explained. "I've heard words like 'fierce' thrown out. It's okay to be strong and empowered."
