A 59-year-old Lake Los Angeles woman was charged with murder Thursday for allegedly beating her boyfriend to death with cans of food.

Linda Clarene Jackson faced one count of murder in the death of 59-year-old David Ruiz, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Jackson allegedly killed Ruiz at her home in the 40000 block of 164th Street East by bludgeoning him in the head with the canned food, the prosecutor said.

The felony complaint alleges Jackson used the cans as a “deadly and dangerous weapon,” the DA’s office stated.

Jackson has a previous conviction in 2005 for making criminal threats, according to the release.

If convicted as charged in the current case, Jackson faces life in state prison.
