Winner of the Week: Riley Curry

The MVP’s daughter steals the show during a post-game press conference.

Many children are shy. It’s fine – they’re new to the world and it is a large, scary place. Riley Curry, the daughter of NBA MVP Steph Curry, is not one of these children. After getting up on her dad’s lap during the post-game press conference on Tuesday, Riley made her presence known, as well as her total disregard for what was supposed to be happening.

This wanton display of cuteness rankled some of the grumpier sports writers who were looking for a quote from Curry to finish their stories. But here’s the thing – post-game press conferences, especially from a winning team, are incredibly dull. They help make sports writing rote and boring. Two-year-old Riley was making a courageous stand against boring precedence, and succeeded wildly. For that, we crown her Winner of The Week. Congrats, Riley, may you one day have a press conference all your own.
