Woman, 91, Attacked During Miami Home Invasion

Police are investigating after a 91-year-old woman was attacked by robbers inside her Miami home early Wednesday

Miami Police said they hope surveillance video will help them find the brazen robbers that attacked a 91-year-old woman inside her home early Wednesday.

The incident happened sometime around 3:30 a.m. at the woman's home in the 5500 block of Southwest 5th Terrace.

One neighbor said the elderly woman was sleeping when at least two men broke into her house and held her down. The suspects fled the scene in two white vehicles.

"More than once, they come by, they slowed down and they actually stopped there," said neighbor Margarita Lopez, whose security cameras captured the robbers apparently staking out the neighborhood.

She said the alleged criminals had been at the elderly woman's house before and had tried breaking her door.

"The police had come before already," Lopez said. "They were able to get in easier this second time around and bust into her room."

The elderly woman wasn't hospitalized after the attackm but was checked out by paramedics at the scene. Miami Police confirmed the woman will be okay.

Lopez said she is hoping for justice for her neighbor.

"I want them to be caught and I want the to make their time," she said. "I want them to pay because she is an elderly person, I have elderly parents, and I think it needs to be stopped."

In the meantime, a locksmith has replaced the elderly woman's door lock.

Police said they are looking for two white, possibly Hispanic males that fled in two white vehicles.
