It's a good time to be involved with the Houston Rockets. James Harden has morphed into a perennial MVP candidate since leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder, and after adding Chris Paul to the mix this summer, the Rockets have a claim on the league's best back court, in an era where perimeter play is more important than ever.

So it only seems right that some Houston royalty wants to get in on the action. Beyoncé, one of the most well-known Houston natives on the planet, is reportedly considering investing enough money in the franchise to become a part owner of the team, according to Bloomberg's Scott Soshnick.

Les Alexander, the current owner of the Rockets, caught a lot of league observers by surprise when he announced in July that he was interested in selling the team he owns outright. Financially, the NBA is in the best shape it has ever been in, which sort of cuts both ways; it seems like a great time to maximize your return if you're looking to sell, but you're also giving up a valuable property in the midst of continual growth.

While Beyoncé doesn't need guidance from anyone but herself to make power moves, she certainly has a good person to go to for advice on the matter. Jay Z's former stake in the Brooklyn Nets was well-known, with her husband part of the crew who helped move that franchise to its new home in New York. Beyoncé isn't likely to make that sort of move with the Rockets—if she gets involved at all—but she can trade secrets with Jay on how to influence an NBA franchise if she does take this big step.

Everyone seems to be in favor of Queen Bey getting more involved with the NBA.

If you've got the kind of money to buy an NBA franchise, it's hard to imagine a more fun thing to do with your money. Beyoncé and Jay probably don't have the type of cash flow to buy the team outright, with the Rockets currently valued at over $1.5 billion, but they have more than enough to be part of an larger investment team. Rockets games are about to be even more lit if this goes through.
