James Laurence, one half of production group Friendzone, has passed away, many using Twitter to mourn the loss.

The producer apparently got sick with a stomach bug days before his death. "got hit with a stomach bug last night and my babydoll @benicetosarah is coming over and taking care of me. i love her more than anything," he wrote on Twitter.

The group, comprised of Laurence and Dylan Reznick, are credited as pioneers of the cloud rap sound, producing songs for A$AP Rocky, Yung Lean, Main Attrakionz and more. Some of Laurence's most recent work with Friendzone included producing Main Attrakionz's long-awaited 808s & Dark Grapes III album. Additional details surrounding the death are not yet available.

Some in the industry are remembering Laurence on Twitter, Ryan Hemsworth writing, "heartbroken, RIP James Laurence, 1/2 of Friendzone.. meant so much to so many musicians and people everywhere." R&B singer How To Dress Well, meanwhile wrote, "RIP james laurence. beautiful boy. never forget u man. listen to @_FRIENDZONE tonite in his honor & to soothe yourself."
