CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Last spring, cleveland.com and its readers took on the daunting task of finding the cutest dog in Northeast Ohio. More than 2,200 dog lovers entered their precious pooches in the contest and after weeks of weeding through photos and readers votes, a winner as declared -- actually two pups tied for the title, Pickles and Stryder.
Today, being National Dog Day, we wanted to, again, celebrate Cleveland's canines. And remind you there are lots of loving doggies out there in search of a home.

Why not celebrate by visiting one of Cleveland's local shelters and adopting a new member of your family? We've compiled just a sampling of cute dogs available at Greater Cleveland shelters. Sadly, there are just too many to include them all.
