A man and woman were transported a Adventist Medical Center Bolingbrook.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A man and woman were injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle early Sunday on Route 59 in Plainfield. Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said two people were on the motorcycle when it was involved in a crash at around 7:30 a.m. on Route 59 near the Meijer gas station entrance. Both occupants of the motorcycle were transported by Plainfield ambulance to AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Bolingbrook, Stratton said.

The driver of the vehicle was the only occupant and refused treatment at the scene, Stratton said. Plainfield Police Sgt. Mike Fisher said witnesses to the crash said the motorcycle had turned left onto southbound Route 59 from Meijer when it was struck from behind by the vehicle.

Fisher said southbound Route 59 between 135th Street and 143rd Street remained closed as of just after 10 a.m. The crash remains under investigation and no citations were immediately issued, he said.
