Thanksgiving is a holiday full of giving thanks, awkward stories and leftover food, but for Teresa Giudice, it will be a time of reflection.

In light of her recent troubles, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is looking forward to spending time with those closest to her at home, according to a source. Instead of having a grandiose party to celebrate the holiday, Teresa will be taking it easy.

"It will be a quiet Thanksgiving for Teresa," the insider said. "She will be with her family, but it will be private and low-key. Nothing over the top. Just family and peace."

The reality star, whose show is known for its outrageous antics, feuds and families, will be living a different reality this holiday season, as she thinks about how her life will change in the coming months and how the lives of others will be altered.

"The truth is, this is a very difficult time for her. This Thanksgiving, she's doing a lot of reflecting," the source added. "She doesn't feel sorry for herself and doesn't want anyone feeling sorry for her, but she has a lot of sadness. She's sad over her family who she has let down, the friends she has let down and the fans she has let down."

"She feels terrible for the people whose jobs have been affected as a result of her brands suffering. Her heart goes out to all of them. She doesn't want sympathy for herself, she wants sympathy to everyone else who has been affected by this."

Although Teresa has endured a rocky road over the past several months, she won't be letting it bring her down. According to the source, Teresa is using her "remorse and feelings of deep sadness" to motivate herself to learn about matters involving money.

"She's taking responsibility for her actions. She's also been using her free time to educate herself on financial matters so nothing like this EVER happens to her again," the source revealed. "If anything, she wants to teach other women the importance of understanding your finances so this doesn't happen to them."

Despite it all, the reality star is trying to keep her head held high.

"She's strong and she is handling this," the source said. "But she's sad."
