The great apes are facing new challenges to coexist with humans. Their home, the Kibale national park, is increasingly being encroached as agricultural fields keep getting closer to the forest. For chimpanzees inhabiting the patch next to the fields, borders are risky areas. But the animals have devised a way to avoid confrontation with humans – they conduct nocturnal raids.
